A peacock has a way of turning color into something almost theatrical.

In this artwork, I wanted the bird itself to become part of the ornament — its long flowing tail continuing into turquoise watercolor swirls, delicate botanical lines and small touches of gold.

Deep teal, turquoise, aqua, cream and warm golden details move through the feathers, while the light background gives the composition space to breathe. From a distance, the peacock creates a graceful flowing silhouette; up close, the individual feathers, “eyes” of the tail and decorative details begin to emerge.

This piece belongs to my turquoise collection — a growing series inspired by a color I find myself returning to again and again.
